Double room was small,(only a queen bed too as opposed to a king size), overlooking inner courtyard, which was not a problem. Room smelled a bit of cigarette smoke we thought, especially in the bathroom. Decor good tho.
On the whole tho, nothing much special, only was there one night, so didn't see much of the hotel.
No omelettes offered cooked on request at breakfast like we've have experienced in other good hotels.
no selection of newspaper at breakfast or room, and my husband stays weekly in a Hilton hotel for business, so not upto their standards, but this may of only been a 3/4*?? not sure, don't think it was good value for money, only for the location, in the city centre.

the room was upgraded which was a fantastic suprise however it did look like it needed redecorating cracks and chipped ceiling and wallpaper.... not what i'd expect from past visits to the midland... staff were fantastic tho.

When we arrived at the Midland we were Disappointed to be told that you had over booked . So we had to be transferred to the Raddison Hotel . Of which we were delighted with . I think in future that you dont over book . Had to tick boxes as it would not send .. would be nice to be compensated with another free night at the Midland ...
