City Of Manchester Stadium Hotels
Originally built for the 2002 Commonwealth Games, the City of Manchester Stadium was later inherited by Manchester City Football Club and is their home ground. It is the fifth-largest stadium in the FA Premier League, with a seating capacity of 47,726. It also plays host to rugby league internationals and numerous music concerts.
There’s a small rail station, Ashburys, which is located 15 minutes’ walk south of the stadium on Alan Turing Way. Services run from here to the city centre (Manchester Piccadilly). Extra buses are provided from central Manchester when there’s a major event on.
